Thought of the day 1:
(Since Earth Day is fast approaching.) It takes millions of gallons of water each day to wash towels that were only used once. (P.S. Prepare yourselves for a rapid growth in environmentally-friendly posts until April 22.)
Happy Earth Day! Watch in full screen mode.
If you don’t already…
How to Start Recycling:
You may (A) sign up to have recyclables picked up at your place of residence, or (B) locate the recycling center in your area.
Richmonders, sign up is at the Central Virginia Waste Management website (cvwma.com), and recycling centers are located in the back corner of the Stratford Hills Shopping Center, at the Southside Tansfer Stattion (3506 N. Hopkins Rd.), which is staffed, the East Richmond Road Convenience Center (3800 E. Richmond Rd.), which is also staffed and behind the Science Museum of Virginia (pictured in the gloomy scene above).
As Friday nears, I thought I’d guilt-trip you a little.
Polar bears are the first species to become endangered because of Global Warming. Are you aware the Bush administration, for years, refused to accept Global Warming as a scientific fact? Are you aware that polar bears cannot hunt in the water — that we are actually melting their natural habitat? They are starving and they are drowning, becoming weak in their search to find thick enough ice again to stand on, and I actually have friends who say they “do not care about the environment.”
Did April 2010’s oil spill destroy the Gulf’s food chain?

Do you throw away plastic? Paper? Leave the water running when you brush your teeth, etc.? And I thought all these things were just common sense.
I look at the oil we use and I ask — WHEN are we going to move to common sense?

Good Friday Earth Day = T-minus one week
Let’s clean some stuff up, people!
Also, I’d like to apologize for lack of posts. Surgery set me back a day or so.
