Power lines shook, objects fell and citizens had a hard time standing today, as many in the U.S. actually experienced their first earthquake ever, around 1:51 p.m. The earth rocked a 5.9 quake from Mineral, VA — 38 miles from Richmond, VA and 84 miles from the nation’s capitol. Reports of feeling the quake stretched all along the East Coast — from New York to the Carolinas. It is the largest quake to have occurred in VA since a 4.8 magnitude in 1875.
