The open windows allow a cool autumn breeze to dance through our grandparents’ house, Mom’s dad is working on the yard outside and Abuela tells us the Spanish names of the animals on the “Planet Earth” documentaries. Surprisingly, all of this makes for a pleasant and productive homework environment, unlike the excitement I have for our other weekend plans. So far, it has been a successful weekend back home, with pumpkin picking, Halloween decorating and scary movies. There are talks of the seafood festival, but, ultimately, it is probably my decision. I am sort of a guest now after all.
I’ve also started considering actually living in Spain for a year or so… Don’t tell anyone; You’re the first to know.
